Supplies Needed to Make Cute Little Ghosts

To make one of these cute little ghosts, you’ll need the following supplies.

How to Assemble Your Cute Little Ghosts

Grab all your supplies and let’s get started making your cute little ghosts for Halloween.

Step 1:

Use the locking clamp to bend the stakes of the tomato cage into whatever shape you’d like. You can see from the pictures below that we made two different shapes for our little ghosts’ heads. Don’t spend too much time on this. It doesn’t need to be perfect. Finish by securing the 3 stakes together with a zip tie.

Step 2:

Start out by securing your first strand of lights at the bottom of the cage with a zip tie.  You’ll notice there are 3 stakes on the tomato cage.  Start your lights on one of the stakes.  Make sure to leave enough cord to plug your ghosts in.  I secured my strand at the first light.

Work your way up the cage securing your lights with a zip tie at each section.  After securing your lights at the top of the cage, carry the strand down the middle or between the 2 stakes on the opposite side securing as you go. Finish by trimming the zip ties. Be careful not to accidentally cut a strand of lights as you trim off the excess tie.

Follow these same steps using 2 more strands of lights or until each stake and in between each stake has lights.

Below is an up-close look of our cage so you can see how we attached the lights.

And here’s a picture of the cage with the lights on.

Step 3:

Drape your sheet over your tomato cage and adjust to your liking.

Step 4:

Draw 2 eyes and a mouth for your ghost on black craft foam or black felt, cut out and pin them on your little ghosts. This is the step where your ghost starts to come together. Isn’t he looking cute?

You can make the shape of the ghost’s eyes and mouth whatever you’d like.  Just draw your shape on the black craft foam or felt, cut them out, and pin them on the sheet.  I think felt would be a little easier to work with when pinning the eyes & mouth on, but I had some craft foam on hand, so I just used it.

When pinning the mouth, it’s easiest to go from under the sheet.

  Step 5:

Place your your cute little Halloween ghosts wherever you’d like, plug it in and ENJOY!

Here are pictures of our 2 cute little ghosts at night. The first one is inside by our fireplace. The second one is outside on our front porch. See why I call them “cute little ghosts?” They really do make the cutest Halloween decorations.

And here are our cute little ghosts during the daytime. They’re just as cute during the day as they are at night!

Let me know if you make one of these cute little ghosts for your Halloween decorations. I’d love to see a picture too!

Here is a link to video instructions on YouTube as well!

Until next time…
